Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday hosted Ayelabola Ololade, a final-year Computer Science student at the University of Lagos, in honour of her recent Guinness World Record-breaking feat.
Ololade, also a model, made global headlines after walking 130.62 kilometres on a catwalk — the longest distance ever recorded on a runway. She achieved the milestone after completing 2,058 laps at UNILAG’s Indoor Sports Centre, breaking a record that had stood for 41 years.
During her visit to Lagos House, Marina, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised Ololade’s perseverance and described her as a symbol of the talent and determination found among Lagos youth.
Sharing the moment on his official X handle, the governor wrote:
Today, I received Ayelabola Ololade, #thelade_wonder, the official Guinness World Record holder for the longest distance walked on a catwalk by a model.
Her groundbreaking achievement not only sets a new global benchmark but also reflects the resilience and creativity that Lagos is known for. I look forward to seeing how her story inspires others to chase their dreams with the same passion and commitment.
