Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has issued a public apology to Afrobeats superstar Davido after he confronted her over a false claim that he had opened a restaurant.
The drama began when Sarah shared a post online suggesting Davido had launched a new eatery—an allegation the singer swiftly denied. In a direct message exchange that quickly went viral, Davido lashed out at the actress, writing:
WTF is wrong with you? Delete that dumb ass shit. Which fucking restaurant did I open? I didn’t open any restaurant. Please delete it now.
Taken aback by the artist’s response, Sarah posted a screenshot of their conversation on Instagram, along with a simple caption:
I’m sorry, Davido.
She later followed up with a video apology, addressing Davido as my King, one and only 001, and expressing deep regret for the misunderstanding.
If you know me well, you’ll know I’m a diehard fan of Davido and Chioma. I’d never intentionally disrespect either of them. I was misled by what Opeyemi posted about Davido gifting him food from his ‘restaurant.’ I simply jumped to conclusions.
Sarah went on to apologize for upsetting the singer, saying:
I’m truly sorry for getting on your nerves to the point where you had to message me directly. Please, forgive me.
She ended her apology with an emotional appeal, declaring her admiration for the music star:
I am your number one fan. Nobody loves you more than I do. I swear to God. They almost took down my page because I was defending you. This apology comes from a place of genuine love. Please forgive me, OBO.
