Hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is now scheduled for an earlier release from prison.
The 56-year-old music executive was initially expected to be released on June 4, 2028. However, reports indicate his new release date has been moved forward to April 25, 2028.
The adjustment comes as Combs continues to challenge his four-year sentence following his conviction on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. His sentence was reportedly reduced after he was accepted into a drug rehabilitation programme in November, a move that qualified him for a shorter term.
This is not the first time his release date has changed. Combs, who is currently serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, previously saw his release pushed back from May 8 to June 4, 2028. The delay followed reported disciplinary issues early in his incarceration in late 2025.
According to reports, Combs was accused of consuming a homemade alcoholic mixture — allegedly made from fermented soda, sugar and apples — and participating in an unauthorised three-way phone call. Sources claimed he had committed several infractions after being transferred to the New Jersey facility on October 30.
However, his representatives strongly denied the allegations. In a statement posted on the official account of Bad Boy Entertainment, they dismissed the claims as false.
“The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false,” the statement read. “His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
Despite the ongoing legal battle surrounding his conviction, Combs is now expected to complete his sentence in April 2028, pending the outcome of his appeal.
