A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Greece on Wednesday afternoon, shaking areas between the islands of Crete and Antikythera.
According to Greece’s Geodynamic Institute, the quake occurred at 4:26 p.m. local time, with its epicenter located about 13 miles off Antikythera’s coast at a depth of 36 miles.
The tremor was felt across parts of Crete, the Peloponnese, and Attica, but no casualties or significant damage have been reported.
This incident comes just five days after a 4.6-magnitude earthquake rattled Naples and surrounding areas in Italy. Residents there reported hearing a loud “roar” and feeling a strong jolt around 9:15 a.m. last Friday.
