
The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of youth leader Udu Uzor during a recent crisis in Ekoli Edda community, Edda Local Government Area.
The incident occurred during a violent conflict in the community two months ago, which resulted in multiple deaths and property destruction.
Some of the suspects were reportedly caught while attempting to flee to Abia State.
Confirming the development on Wednesday, State Commissioner of Police, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, said:
“Following the Ekoli Edda crisis that led to the murder of Udu Nnachi on July 9, 2025, operatives of SWAT arrested Amarachi Ude, Idika Ama Okoro, and Sunday Ama Olughu.”
She added that the suspects would be charged to court after investigations are completed.
The CP also reassured the public of the command’s commitment to a thorough investigation and swift prosecution, emphasizing efforts to restore peace in the troubled community.
