Tottenham Hotspur secured a narrow 1–0 win over arch-rivals Arsenal on Thursday in a closely fought preseason friendly.
The match’s only goal came just before halftime, as Pape Matar Sarr struck in the 45th minute to give Spurs the lead. Despite a few flashes of attacking intent from both sides, chances remained limited in what was largely a cautious and tactical affair.
Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur received a yellow card in the 36th minute, while late bookings were handed to Arsenal’s Mikel Merino and Spurs’ Brennan Johnson during stoppage time.
While the match served primarily as a tune-up for the upcoming season, it also gave both teams a chance to test strategies and assess player fitness.
In the end, it was Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs—not Thomas Frank’s side—who walked away with bragging rights in this North London clash
