Trent Alexander-Arnold expressed his pride and sense of duty as he was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player on Thursday. The 26-year-old right-back, who made a surprise switch from Liverpool ahead of the Club World Cup, addressed fans and media in Spanish during his presentation.

“Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn’t happen every day—this is a dream come true,” Alexander-Arnold said. “I’m proud and excited to be here. I know the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt, and I’m ready to give everything to this club.”

The England international, whose Liverpool contract was due to expire this summer, has signed with Madrid until 2031. His move reunites him with former Liverpool midfielder and newly appointed Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, who is leading a new era at the Bernabéu.

Alexander-Arnold, who helped Liverpool secure a second Premier League title under Arne Slot before his departure, is eager to make his mark in Spain. “I hope to win many titles and become a champion here,” he added.

Set to wear the number 12 shirt with “Trent” on the back, Alexander-Arnold could make his debut on June 18 in Miami, when Madrid face Al-Hilal in their Club World Cup opener.

His arrival is part of a broader rebuilding effort by the Spanish giants, who failed to claim any major trophies last season under Carlo Ancelotti. Madrid have also signed Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth as Alonso reshapes the squad.
