Barcelona confirmed in a statement on Thursday that tests revealed Koundé has a hamstring injury in his left thigh. The club did not specify how long he will be sidelined, but the 26-year-old is a doubt for the upcoming Clásico against Real Madrid on May 11 and will miss Saturday’s match against Real Valladolid.
Koundé, who has played 53 games for Barcelona this season, was replaced by Eric García at right-back in the second half against Inter Milan. Barcelona currently lead Real Madrid by four points in La Liga as they pursue a potential quadruple this season.
