Ukraine Rejects Russia’s Ceasefire, Calls It A Deception

Ukraine has condemned Russia’s claimed ceasefire, calling it a “farce” as attacks continued along the front line. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin’s order for a three-day truce, which was intended to coincide with a major parade in Moscow for World War II Victory Day.

“Putin’s ‘Parade ceasefire’ is nothing but a farce,” Sybiga said, adding that from midnight to midday, Russia violated the ceasefire 734 times and launched 63 assault operations. He emphasized that Ukraine would continue its response and share details with its allies.

While Ukraine did not agree to the ceasefire, Russia claimed that Ukraine had violated it. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that their forces were adhering to the truce, refraining from strikes by aircraft, missiles, artillery, or drones. However, they accused Ukrainian troops of continuing hostilities.

Ukraine’s air force reported several missile and drone strikes, with increased tactical airstrikes in the Sumy region. Russia also attacked a residential area near Bilopillya, close to the Sumy-Kursk border.
