Victor Osimhen Accused Of Abandoning Family, Hometown In Viral Video

A viral video making the rounds online shows two men who claim to be relatives of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, accusing the football star of neglecting his family and hometown since gaining international fame.

The video, reportedly filmed at Osimhen’s family house in his local government area in Edo State, features the men — identified as Omuyiwa John and Monday Egbe — expressing disappointment over the player’s alleged absence and lack of support for his roots.

They claimed to share a grandfather with Osimhen and recalled how the extended family once came together to support his late father, Patrick Osimhen, during a period of financial hardship. One of them also said the family contributed funds for the burial of Osimhen’s mother.

“We all grew up here. We went to the same primary school. When his father returned from Lagos, he said he had no money. The whole family contributed to help him,” one of the men said. “But since Osimhen became successful, he hasn’t come back — not even when his father died. They buried him in Lagos.”

The men voiced frustration that despite Osimhen’s global recognition and career success, he allegedly cut ties with his roots. They recalled how the local community celebrated his rise, noting that the Edo State governor once brought a television to the palace so villagers could watch Osimhen play.

They concluded by questioning why the football star has not visited or shown appreciation to those who supported his family before his rise to fame.
