Former Besiktas manager, Sergen Yalcin, has named Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the Turkish Super Lig Player of the Season, following his outstanding performances during his loan spell at Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli, played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s title-winning campaign. The 26-year-old forward was instrumental in helping the club secure both the league title and the domestic cup.
Over the course of the season, Osimhen netted an impressive 36 goals and provided eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking to Turkish media outlet Habersarikirmizi, Yalcin praised Osimhen’s impact, stating:
“I think the player of the season is Osimhen. It is very difficult to choose players from other teams anyway. If we were to form an 11, you would get at least 6-7 players from Galatasaray. You wouldn’t just get a right back and a left back.”
Osimhen’s dominance in the Turkish top flight has further elevated his profile, solidifying his reputation as one of the most lethal forwards in European football.
