Wike Withdraws From PDP Peace Talks, Vows To Continue Fight For Justice

The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has officially withdrawn from all prior agreements aimed at resolving the internal crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a statement titled “PDP Crisis: My Position,” Wike accused Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of repeatedly violating agreed resolutions, which include recognizing Senator Samuel Anyanwu as PDP National Secretary per a Supreme Court ruling, withdrawing legal cases involving Rivers State, and halting a suit seeking a state of emergency in Rivers.

Wike expressed deep frustration with ongoing breaches of trust and dishonesty among party leaders, despite efforts at reconciliation led by figures such as Bukola Saraki. He detailed attempts by Makinde and others to undermine agreements by pushing for alternate leadership and causing disruptions in party activities.

Having been committed to the PDP since 1998, Wike said he had hoped for unity but now sees continued deception threatening the party’s stability. He has therefore decided to pull out of the reconciliation process and pledged to continue fighting until justice is achieved within the party.
