Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has voiced strong opposition to alleged plans to present former President Goodluck Jonathan (GEJ) as a candidate in the 2027 presidential election.
Ahmad claimed that certain political actors are considering Jonathan because they believe he would be easier to market in Northern Nigeria. He criticized the idea, saying it sets a poor precedent and reflects a lack of respect for the North.
According to him, the region deserves better than to be treated as a mere stepping stone for political ambitions.
