The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed the nominees for key positions in various state agencies, as proposed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The confirmation took place during a plenary session led by Speaker Mr. Mudashiru Obasa on Friday.
Obasa, referencing Section 192 (Part II), Chapter 6 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), announced the confirmation after receiving a unanimous voice vote from the lawmakers present. He commended the 12-member committee for conducting a thorough screening of all the nominees and stated that they had been found qualified to hold government positions.
The 13 nominees are drawn from key agencies, including the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission, and the Lagos State Civil Service Commission.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Obasa had earlier inaugurated a 12-member Ad hoc Committee on Nominee Screening, headed by Mr. Fatai Mojeed (Ibeju-Lekki I). Mojeed presented the committee’s report, which led to the approval of the nominees. He assured the House that the committee had carried out its task diligently.
