Operatives of the Nigerian Army, part of Operation HADIN KAI, are currently involved in a heavy gunfight with Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants following an attack on the town of Buni Gari in Yobe State.
The development was confirmed through a brief statement on the Army’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, which read: “Troops of Operation HADIN KAI are engaged in a fierce battle against an ISWAP attack in Buni Gari, Yobe State. Further details to follow.”
