The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 39-year-old man identified as Best Orji, for allegedly defiling his two biological daughters.
The mother of the children who reported the matter to the police on April 30, said they were between the ages of 12 and 14 when the crime was committed.
The Lagos state police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, at a press briefing yesterday, at Command headquarters, Ikeja, said the complainant alleged that her husband committed the act in Suru- Lere area of the state.
“Upon receiving the report, police swiftly apprehended the suspect. A medical examination was conducted on the victims at a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC).
Following the investigation, the suspect, Best Orji, was arraigned in court on May 9, 2025, to face charges of defilement, under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Command, under the leadership of CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reiterated its unwavering commitment to reducing crime and criminality in the state.
Hundeyin assured residents and visitors that the command shall continue to optimize the management and deployment of human and operational resources across the state.
