The quarter-final picture of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 is now complete following Algeria’s dramatic qualification on Tuesday.
Seven teams had already secured their places in the last eight before Algeria joined them with a hard-fought 1–0 extra-time victory over DR Congo in Rabat. Substitute Anis Boulbina struck the decisive goal in the 119th minute to send the North Africans through and set up a quarter-final showdown with Nigeria.
Nigeria booked their spot earlier on Monday night after a dominant 4–0 win against Mozambique, with Victor Osimhen scoring twice to guide the Super Eagles into the quarter-finals.
Senegal, Mali, tournament hosts Morocco, Cameroon and Egypt had already confirmed their progression from the Round of 16.
Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire were the final team to complete the quarter-final line-up, delivering an emphatic 3–0 victory over Burkina Faso on Tuesday night in Marrakesh. Goals from Amad Diallo (20’), Yan Diomandé (32’) and Bamba Touré (87’) sealed a confident win for the Elephants.
