The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially submitted the names of Ezenwafor Jude as its governorship candidate and Okeke Francis Chukwudi as his running mate for the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
This was confirmed in a letter dated May 7, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The letter was received and stamped by INEC on May 12, 2025.
Signed by the PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the letter informed INEC of the outcome of the party’s primary election, which was monitored by the commission.
“We write to inform the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that Ezenwafor Jude C. is the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Gubernatorial Candidate for the November 08, 2025 Anambra State Gubernatorial Election, having emerged winner of the party’s primary,” the statement read.
The party also confirmed Chukwudi as the deputy governorship candidate:
“Please be also informed that Hon. Okeke Francis Chukwudi is Ezenwafor Jude’s Running Mate.”
To meet electoral requirements, the PDP submitted the necessary documentation, including Forms EC-9, EC-9B, and EC-13B for both candidates.
The party concluded by urging INEC to acknowledge receipt and reiterated its commitment to following due process:
“Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter and accept the assurances of our highest esteem and regards.”
