Arsenal have officially announced the signing of England international Noni Madueke from Chelsea in a deal worth an initial £48 million, potentially rising to £52 million with performance-based add-ons.
The 23-year-old winger becomes Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard.
Speaking on the transfer, Arsenal’s Sporting Director Andrea Berta said:
We’re delighted to secure a deal for such a talented young player. Noni’s numbers and consistency in recent seasons speak volumes about his quality and professionalism.
He’s a dynamic, versatile wide forward with excellent technical ability, and he’ll be a significant addition to our squad
Manager Mikel Arteta also praised the new signing:
We’re thrilled to welcome Noni Madueke to Arsenal. He’s an exciting and powerful winger, one of the Premier League’s most talented young attackers.
At just 23, he already has strong experience at both club and international levels and knows the league well.
He joins a squad with familiar England teammates and friends, so he’ll feel right at home. His arrival is a big boost for us, and we’re all excited to work with him.”
Madueke will wear the number 20 shirt and is expected to link up with the squad in early August, following his participation in the Club World Cup. He will miss the club’s Asia tour due to those commitments.
