Celebrity barman and entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has opened up about his absence from singer Davido’s wedding in Miami, Florida, attributing it to long-standing U.S. visa challenges.

In an emotional Instagram post on Saturday, Chief Priest revealed he woke up with “mixed feelings”—joy for the couple’s milestone and sadness over not being able to attend.

“Sometimes, God has a way of reminding you that you’re powerless, regardless of everything you think you have,” he wrote, sharing a video from Davido’s traditional wedding in Lagos in 2024.

Addressing criticism over his absence, he added, “I appreciate the bashing because it has given me multiple reasons and proofs to apply again.”

In a direct appeal to the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, he wrote:
“#USinNigeria do it for me this time. You can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding. You need to give me access to get my fat ass into America. Delay is never denial — CP is still hopeful.”

Despite missing the event in person, Cubana Chief Priest said his wife and family were present to represent him.
“The largest part of me—my beautiful, elegant, eloquent and sophisticated wife, #_deangels—is there to share in this luxury, blissful experience. So I’m there in body and spirit.”

He also sent heartfelt wishes to the newlyweds:
“I’m wishing my best friend #Davido and his beautiful wife #TheChefChi an amazing wedlock.”

He concluded by announcing plans to reapply for a U.S. visa:
“#USinNigeria, I’m in again next week. Please give me access to the greatest country in the world. This pain is really paining.”

Earlier this year, during an appearance on Rubbin’ Minds on Channels TV, Cubana Chief Priest explained that errors made in his initial visa application—filled out by someone else during his youth—have continued to impact his ability to obtain a visa, despite multiple attempts.

“I’ve been denied access to America. If I had a visa to enter Yankee today, it would be a dream come true,” he said.

The highly anticipated wedding brought together celebrities and friends in Miami for pre-wedding celebrations, but Cubana Chief Priest’s absence was notably felt.
