
Dangote Group Plc has pledged full support and compensation for Mrs. Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma “Phyna” Otabor, who sustained injuries in a recent accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
According to PUNCH Online, the incident occurred last week along the Auchi axis, leading to significant traffic congestion before emergency responders and security personnel arrived. Mrs. Otabor was subsequently hospitalised at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
In a statement released on Thursday, Dangote Cement Plc confirmed its commitment to taking full responsibility for the incident.
Following the recent road accident in Auchi, Edo State, involving one of our trucks and resulting in injury to Mrs. Ruth Otabor, senior officials from Dangote Cement Plc, along with our Insurance team, immediately visited the scene, liaised with law enforcement, and met with the victim and her family at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
This reflects our unwavering commitment to the well-being of those affected. We are providing full support to Mrs. Otabor, including comprehensive medical treatment and appropriate compensation, in accordance with our welfare policies.
Our thoughts remain with Mrs. Ruth Otabor and her family during this difficult time, and we wish her a full and speedy recovery.
The company also noted that it is cooperating with the relevant authorities to facilitate a thorough investigation of the incident, while reaffirming its dedication to the safety of all road users.
