Delta Goodrem Confirmed to Represent Australia at Eurovision 2026

Australian pop icon Delta Goodrem will officially represent Australia at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna this May.

The announcement, made by Australian broadcaster Special Broadcasting Service (SBS), marks Australia’s 11th appearance in the global competition since debuting in 2015. Goodrem is set to perform during the second half of the second semi-final on Thursday, May 14, at Vienna’s iconic Wiener Stadthalle, with more than 160 million viewers expected to tune in worldwide.

The 41-year-old award-winning singer will perform her new single, Eclipse, a song she describes as deeply personal and symbolic.

“I’m so honoured to represent Australia on one of the biggest and most iconic music stages in the world,” Goodrem said. “Music has always been my lifelong passion. Eurovision connects and unites people across the globe through the universal language of music.”

She explained that Eclipse is about alignment — when everything falls into place at the right time. “It truly felt like the right moment to represent Australia,” she added.

Goodrem’s selection comes after years of speculation about whether she would ever take the Eurovision stage. During a London tour last year, she hinted at the possibility, saying she would do it “if the right moment happens.” Months later, that moment arrived with a call from SBS.

To mark Eurovision’s milestone 70th anniversary, SBS said it wanted to send one of Australia’s most celebrated artists to the world stage. Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs praised Goodrem’s powerful yet intimate performance style, describing her as the perfect choice for the historic occasion. Australia’s creative director for Vienna, Paul Clarke, also hailed her as a “once-in-a-generation artist,” applauding her elegant songwriting and unmatched vocal ability.

On Monday morning, 2 March 2026, Goodrem appeared on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on KIIS FM, where she shared further insight into the meaning behind Eclipse and called on Australians to rally behind her Eurovision journey. During the interview, radio host Karl Stefanovic repeatedly praised the track, describing it as a potential winner and offering heartfelt words of encouragement.

Goodrem, who signed with Sony Music Entertainment at just 15, has enjoyed a three-decade career filled with remarkable milestones. Her debut album Innocent Eyes became Australia’s biggest-selling album of the 2000s and one of the highest-selling albums in the country’s history, producing five number-one singles. She has since sold millions of records globally and earned nine number-one singles in Australia.

Now, with Eclipse in hand and a nation behind her, Delta Goodrem is preparing to step onto Eurovision’s grand stage in Vienna with one goal — to make Australia proud.
