The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has declared a ministry-wide prayer and fasting initiative, seeking divine intervention for the protection of the nation and sustainable food security.
According to an internal circular dated June 11, 2025, and signed by Mrs. Adedayo Modupe O., Director of Human Resource Management, all directors, deputy directors, assistant directors, value chain desk officers, and other ministry staff are mandated to participate in the prayer sessions.
Themed “Divine Intervention for Protection and National Development,” the initiative aims to invoke God’s guidance and support for the government’s efforts in stabilizing and strengthening the country’s food systems.
The prayer gatherings will take place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on three consecutive Mondays: June 16, 23, and 30, 2025. Staff members have been instructed to attend each session in a state of fasting as a spiritual response to the growing challenges in the agricultural sector and national food security.
“This is to invite all staff of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to a solemn prayer session for God’s guidance and success in supporting the government’s efforts to achieve food security. Please kindly come fasting on Mondays 16th, 23rd and 30th June, 2025,” the memo stated.
