Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has extended heartfelt greetings to children across the state in celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, emphasizing their potential as the state’s most valuable treasure.

In a statement released by his media aide, Nelson Chukwudi, in Port Harcourt, Fubara described the national theme of this year’s celebration, “Tapping the Untapped Natural Treasure,” as a timely reminder of the immense, often overlooked talents and possibilities within every child.

“Our children are the most precious treasure we have,” Fubara said. “Their dreams, creativity, and energy are gifts that must be nurtured and unlocked—for the good of Rivers State and our nation.”

He reiterated his administration’s dedication to child development, highlighting ongoing investments in education, healthcare, and child protection, all aimed at creating a future where every child can thrive.

“We are building platforms for your gifts to shine,” he added. “We believe that every child in Rivers State has something unique to offer. Let this day remind you that you matter, your voice counts, and your dreams are valid.”

Fubara also praised parents, teachers, and caregivers for their vital role in shaping the lives of young people and called for stronger collaboration among all stakeholders to help children achieve their full potential.

Concluding his message, the governor said, “Happy Children’s Day, our beloved children. God bless you all, God bless Rivers State, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
