Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has firmly restated his allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dismissing rumors of any plans to defect.
Speaking on Saturday, June 28, during an interactive session with members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) in Enugu, Governor Mbah emphasized his continued loyalty to the party.
“I am still in the PDP. As you can see, the flag behind me is that of the PDP,” he remarked, addressing the speculation directly. While acknowledging ongoing internal challenges within the party, Mbah noted that such issues are not unique to the PDP, as political unrest exists across various parties nationwide.
Despite the current turbulence, he expressed confidence in the PDP’s resilience and its ability to resolve internal disputes over time.
Governor Mbah also stressed that his primary focus remains on governance, not political maneuvering.
“Our administration is here to serve the people of Enugu State, and that’s where our energy is directed,” he said. “Ultimately, it is the people who will decide whether our mandate should be renewed or not.”
The governor’s remarks reinforced his commitment both to his party and to the people of Enugu State, signaling a clear intent to prioritize development over political distractions.
