Judge Denies Diddy’s Bail Request Despite Acquittal On Major Charges

A New York judge has ruled that Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain in custody pending sentencing, following his conviction on two federal counts of transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.

The hip-hop mogul, who was found guilty of two out of five charges in a federal indictment, will continue to be held at a federal detention facility in Brooklyn.

After the verdict was delivered on Wednesday, Combs’ lead attorney requested his immediate release, arguing that he had been acquitted of the most serious charges originally brought against him. However, federal prosecutors opposed the request, labeling Combs a flight risk and someone who could interfere with ongoing legal matters—even from behind bars.

Prosecutors also revealed plans to push for a harsh sentence that could see Combs imprisoned for up to 20 years.

Judge Arun Subramanian denied the bail request, citing Combs’ history of violence—especially toward women—as a significant concern.

“The prosecution clearly demonstrated a disturbing pattern of private violence spanning decades,” the judge said.

The court referenced multiple instances of abuse, including video footage repeatedly shown during the trial that depicted Combs assaulting singer Cassie Ventura. Additional testimony described a violent attack on a woman referred to as “Jane” in 2024—an incident that allegedly occurred after Combs had already been indicted and his properties searched by authorities.

With sentencing ahead, the high-profile case continues to draw national attention.
