Dancer and reality TV star Liquorose has revealed that she almost made it into the 2020 edition of Big Brother Naija before an unexpected setback stopped her at the final moment.
Speaking on a podcast with VJ Adams, Liquorose shared that she had passed all the audition stages and was fully prepared — outfit on, makeup done, and waiting backstage during the live launch show — when the organisers suddenly told her she wouldn’t be going in.
She said the experience left her devastated and questioning whether she still wanted to pursue her dream of being on the show. It was later discovered that both she and fellow hopeful Jaypaul had tested positive for COVID-19, making them ineligible to participate that year.
The disappointment hit her so hard that she almost skipped auditions for the 2021 season. But with encouragement from a friend, she decided to try again — and eventually found her acceptance email buried in her spam folder.
Liquorose went on to join the 2021 Big Brother Naija season, where she finished as the runner-up to Whitemoney.
