Mark, Obi Meet In Awka As Soludo Praises Late Justice Nri-Ezedi’s Virtues

At the time of his arrival at Prof. Chinua Achebe Airport former Governor of Anambra State and Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, was also at the airport.

It was not clear if Obi’s presence at the airport was a chance meeting but both drove in separate cars and the same convoy to Nri in Njikoka local council area where they attended the burial ceremony of Nri-Ezedi, accompanied by the Governorship candidate of ADC, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu and his running mate Chief Ndubisi Nwobu.

Obi was seen in the airport shortly after the landing of o private jet which brought Mark.
When approached for comments Mark declined.

His media aide Paul Mumeh told Saturday Independent that it was a private visit and that Mark was a friend of the Nri-Ezedi family and that he came to attend the burial.

Meanwhile, in his speech during the funeral service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, which attracted many dignitaries, the governor of Anambra State. Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo praised the late judge for his upright approach to justice.

Soludo recalled that it was justice Nri-Ezedi who upturned the impeachment of Mr. Peter Obi when he was governor.

Obi’s former deputy Mrs. Virgo Etiaba and many lawyers among them Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, Chief Ozoemena Onyali, SAN, Prof. Augustine Ilochi Okafor, SAN, justices of Anambra high court, government functionaries, party supporters among others, attended the ceremony.
