Osun PDP Dismisses Defection Rumours, Affirms Adeleke’s Loyalty To Party

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly denied rumours suggesting Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling the claims baseless and politically motivated.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, described the rumour as a fabrication by “jittery elements within the opposition” aimed at distracting the public from the achievements of Governor Adeleke’s administration.

“There is no truth to the false claims that Governor Adeleke or the PDP structure in Osun is planning to defect to the APC. The story is a desperate move by rejected politicians terrified by the Governor’s growing popularity and performance,” Bisi said.

He reassured party members and supporters that the PDP in Osun remains united and fully committed to the administration’s goal of transforming the state.

“Our party remains intact, cohesive, and focused on delivering on the people’s mandate. Governor Adeleke is dedicated to inclusive governance and will continue to engage citizens openly and transparently,” Bisi added.

He urged the public to ignore the “mischief-makers” behind the rumour, stating that the PDP-led government is prioritizing service delivery and the well-being of all communities in the state.

“The support and trust of Osun people are deeply appreciated. We remain committed to building a better and more prosperous state for all,” the statement concluded.
