Russia Mocks Europe After White House Ukraine Talks

European Union EU

Russian politicians have ridiculed European leaders following their White House discussions on the Ukraine war.

Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s former president and deputy chair of its Security Council, slammed the gathering as an “anti‑Russian warmongering Coalition of the Willing,” accusing European figures of flattering US President Donald Trump—yet failing to outmaneuver him. In a post on X, Medvedev ridiculed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, wondering what message the “Kiev clown” would deliver once back home “wearing his green military uniform again”.

Konstantin Kosachev, deputy speaker of Russia’s Federation Council, suggested that under Trump’s pressure, Ukraine and Europe had been forced to moderate their anti-Russian tone He emphasized that neither Kyiv nor Brussels can continue “barking at Russia” from behind US support

Meanwhile, Leonid Slutsky, head of the Duma’s Foreign Affairs Committee, backed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s position, stating that Europe should heed Putin’s call and refrain from interfering in peace negotiations
