Tinubu Stepped In And Saved Rivers State From Crisis – Governor Fubara

Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his decisive intervention in the state’s political crisis, describing the introduction of emergency measures as a stabilizing force that allowed him and his deputy to remain in office.

Fubara made the remarks during a May 29 event organized by his supporters under the Simplified Movement at their secretariat in Port Harcourt.

He urged his supporters to appreciate President Tinubu’s role in averting further chaos in the state.
“Let’s be thankful to Mr. President. Without his timely intervention, things could have taken a worse turn. We protested, but in the end, he stepped in and salvaged the situation,” Fubara said.

The governor expressed optimism that the crisis would be resolved soon.
“By God’s grace, we’ll return to our respective offices — both in the executive and legislative arms. I believe the unity we once had, where we worked, dined, and joked together, will return,” he added.

Fubara also extended appreciation to his supporters and Nigerians who stood by him during the turbulent period, acknowledging their loyalty and prayers. However, he urged them to understand that protests alone cannot resolve deep political issues.

Appealing for forgiveness from those who may have been disappointed in his approach, Fubara emphasized that his decisions were driven by a desire to maintain peace and ensure the progress of the state.

Reassuring supporters of lasting reconciliation, Fubara noted, “There is no reason why there won’t be peace between me and my oga,” referring to Minister of the FCT and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
