A newly ordained Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Chris Orajiaka, celebrated his first Mass on Sunday at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki, Lagos, after giving up two university degrees and a multi-million-naira business to answer the call to priesthood.
During the Mass, he presented the maniturgium — the cloth used to wipe the sacred chrism from a priest’s hands during ordination — to his mother in a symbolic gesture of gratitude and honor.
Fr. Orajiaka was ordained on June 28, 2025, at the Diocese of Tyler in Texas, United States.
