Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal. This marks a major shift in negotiations after the forward previously walked away from talks due to his demand for a €40 million annual salary being rejected.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Osimhen has now accepted a revised offer worth €30 million per year over a four-year deal. The total contract is valued at around $35 million (£29m/$40m) annually, including bonuses and performance-based add-ons.
While personal terms with the player are in place, Al Hilal has yet to strike a deal with Napoli. Renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Saudi club has tabled a €70 million (£59m/$80m) offer, but Napoli are holding firm at €75 million (£63m/$86m). Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing.
Al Hilal is eager to finalize the transfer before the mini-window closes on June 10, which would allow Osimhen to be registered in time for the FIFA Club World Cup.
This development is a significant setback for Turkish champions Galatasaray, who had been hoping to retain Osimhen following a prolific loan spell in which he netted 37 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.
