Former actress Georgina Onuoha has slammed Ned Nwoko over his latest public statements about his estranged wife, Regina Daniels.
The controversy reignited after Regina voluntarily submitted to a drug test in the UK, which returned a negative result. Despite this, Ned Nwoko insisted that she had tested positive for drugs in Nigeria. Following his initial claims, Onuoha criticized him for attempting to tarnish Regina’s reputation.
Nwoko later released another statement, including a WhatsApp message in which he accused Regina of drug use and inappropriate behavior. Reacting to this, Onuoha described his conduct as “deeply disturbing” and “unbecoming of a politician,” asserting that he “urgently needs psychological rehabilitation rather than Regina.”
She further said: “His attitude is unbecoming of a responsible and honorable man. His persistent online attacks and witch-hunt campaign against his estranged wife—a young woman he reportedly began a relationship with at 17—reflect the classic behavior of a malignant narcissist: a person who seeks total control over another’s life, choices, and even sense of self.
Onuoha urged Nwoko to respect Regina’s decisions and stop damaging her image. She wrote:
A man nearing 70 publicly battling a 24-year-old woman, who entered that relationship at 17, should alarm every Nigerian. She has since grown, matured, and chosen to leave a path that no longer serves her. In any free society, the right to walk away from a toxic relationship is fundamental. Yet instead of respecting her choice, he continues a campaign of character destruction—labeling her a drug addict, harming her reputation, and using their children as leverage to coerce her return. This is not concern; this is control.
She voluntarily submitted to independent drug testing abroad and was cleared. Someone who is addicted to substances does not live the life we see her living. Admitting poor judgment does not make a person an addict. Language matters. False labels destroy lives. What is unfolding is dangerous and follows a familiar pattern: when a woman says, ‘I am done,’ intimidation, defamation, manipulation, and relentless pressure follow.
If anything happens to this young woman, accountability must fall where it belongs. Senator Ned, leave her alone. She has said enough—respect it. Freedom means the right to leave. Your smear campaign will not be sustained. Regina may not have the grammatical acumen to write epistles like you, but many good and just Nigerians will speak up for her. You are petty. It is obvious that you are the one in need of psychological rehabilitation. You need help, Chinedu..
