2025 UTME Mop-Up In Jeopardy As 85,790 Candidates Remain Unprepared – JAMB

With less than 24 hours to the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up test, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has expressed concern over the low turnout of candidates who have printed their examination notification slips.

The mop-up exam, set for Saturday, June 28, 2025, is intended for candidates who missed the main UTME. However, in a statement issued on Friday, JAMB disclosed that only 12,442 out of the 98,232 eligible candidates — just 12.6% — had printed their slips as of that time.

“We strongly advise all affected candidates to print their notification slips without delay,” said JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin. “This is a unique opportunity for them to take part in this year’s UTME, and it should not be missed.”

The board emphasized that candidates who fail to print their slips will effectively forfeit their chance to sit for the exam.

JAMB also reassured the public that all necessary human and material resources have been deployed to facilitate a smooth process, ensuring that every registered candidate has the opportunity to participate.

“We are monitoring the printing statistics closely and urge all candidates to act immediately,” the statement concluded.
