The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of Oladele Femi, widely known as “Tallex,” the prime suspect in the abduction and gruesome murder of two students from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).
Femi reportedly died in hospital after suffering a sudden illness while in police custody. According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, the suspect had been under medical supervision since his arrest and was repeatedly hospitalized before passing away.
Femi, a landlord to one of the victims, John Abba, had allegedly confessed to orchestrating the abduction and murder of Abba and his female friend, Eloho Okah, who were declared missing on June 20, 2025.
Eloho Okah’s decomposing body has been recovered by authorities. However, John Abba’s remains are still missing, though search operations are ongoing. Two other suspects—Kola and Michael—were arrested for withdrawing ₦800,000 from Abba’s bank account while he and Eloho were held captive. Abba’s Lexus RX 350 SUV has also been retrieved from one of the suspects.
While the death of the prime suspect complicates the case, police say investigations are ongoing, including forensic analysis and financial tracking to trace all accomplices.
The chilling case has triggered widespread outrage and demands for justice, with many calling for heightened security measures in university communities to protect students from criminal elements.
More updates are expected as the police continue their investigations.
