Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly considering a legal request to serve his upcoming sentence at his $48.5 million private-island mansion in Miami, rather than in prison, according to TMZ.
The rap mogul is facing 1 to 3 years of confinement after being found guilty of prostitution-related charges, though he was acquitted of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges last month following a high-profile trial in Manhattan federal court.
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, told TMZ that the rapper wants to undergo therapy for anger management and substance abuse, claiming that prison would not provide the necessary support. He said it’s a “possibility” the legal team will ask the judge to allow Combs to serve his sentence under home confinement at his luxurious mansion.
This development comes shortly after a judge denied Combs’ $50 million bail request, keeping him in federal custody until his sentencing in October.
Prosecutors have previously described the Miami estate as the location of controversial gatherings, reportedly involving drug use and paid sexual encounters.
Combs has yet to publicly comment on the potential sentencing arrangement.
