
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation following the tragic death of a young woman found unconscious with her hands tied behind her back in a hotel in Gwarinpa, Abuja.
According to a statement by the FCT Police Command spokesperson, CSP Josephine Adeh, the victim, identified as Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, hailed from Benue State. She reportedly checked into a hotel on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025, in the company of an unidentified man who was later seen leaving the premises without her.
Hotel staff discovered Tessy unconscious during routine room checks and immediately alerted the authorities. She was confirmed dead upon medical evaluation.
In response, CP Adewale assured the public that a full investigation is underway, urging citizens to remain calm as detectives work to uncover the truth behind the incident.
The Commissioner also advised young women to be cautious in their dealings with unfamiliar individuals and to always inform trusted friends or family of their whereabouts for safety purposes.
Furthermore, he called on hotel operators to strengthen internal security protocols by implementing strict ID verification for guests and ensuring functional CCTV systems are in place.
The FCT Police Command extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and reiterated its commitment to bringing those responsible to justice.
