A fire broke out late Friday evening at the Music House, a large business complex owned by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The building, which houses Ayefele’s Merry Makers’ Band, Tiwantiwa Radio, Blast FM, and the popular Fresh FM, was thrown into disarray around 7:30 p.m. as the blaze disrupted live broadcasts and ongoing operations.
An eyewitness, Samuel Ibikunle, who was among the first to raise the alarm, appealed for urgent assistance.
Fresh FM is currently on fire! We need the Fire Service immediately. Please alert the nearest station, he said.
The Oyo State Fire Service Director, Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, later confirmed that firefighters had arrived at the scene and were working to bring the situation under control.
As of press time, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were yet to be determined.
