
A three-storey building collapsed in the early hours of Thursday on Asesi Lane, near Adeniji Adele Road in Lagos Island, sparking a full-scale emergency response.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the incident via a Facebook post, revealing that four individuals have been rescued from the debris and rushed to the hospital. Their current medical conditions have not been disclosed.
Personnel from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other relevant agencies quickly mobilized to the scene to conduct search-and-rescue operations and prevent further casualties.
The area has since been cordoned off, and authorities are urging residents to avoid the site to allow emergency teams to work without obstruction.
As of the time of this report, the cause of the collapse remains unknown. Investigations are underway, and further updates are expected in the coming hours.
