The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all public universities in Nigeria to complete their 2025 admission processes by October 31, 2025.
According to the admission schedule released in JAMB’s weekly bulletin on Monday:
- Public universities must conclude admissions by October 31
- Private universities have until November 30
- All other tertiary institutions (both public and private) must finish admissions by December 31, 2025
JAMB said the timelines were approved at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education. The goal is to stabilise the academic calendar and ensure fair access to admission opportunities across all institutions.
The board also urged institutions to complete post-UTME screenings promptly to meet the deadlines.
“Even if an institution is not ready to start a new session, it must still conduct and archive its admissions within the given timeframe,” the bulletin stated.
JAMB stressed that all institutions must strictly adhere to the schedule to avoid disrupting the national academic calendar.
