The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described President Bola Tinubu as a poor choice for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential election, calling him a “bad market” and predicting he will not secure a second term.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the party remains the only credible force capable of defeating Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The PDP is the only party that can unseat the APC. We have the support, grassroots presence, and national structure. There is no community in Nigeria without PDP members — it is truly the people’s party,” Ologunagba stated.
He added, “With all the failures of the APC, no patriotic Nigerian or political group will back Tinubu in 2027. He is a one-term president.”
Reacting to recent defections from the PDP to the APC and a new coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ologunagba downplayed their impact.
“Our party remains organic and strong. The core members are not leaving — certainly not because of hunger or insecurity. Most Nigerians, including those not involved in politics, still see the PDP as their hope,” he said.
