Chelsea confirmed on Monday, February 2, that transfer business involving three players was completed before the winter window closed.
In a statement on the club’s official website, the Premier League side announced that Joel Philbert, David Fofana, and Aaron Anselmino were all involved in deadline-day moves.
Philbert completed a permanent transfer to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The defender joined Chelsea at the age of 14 during the 2023/24 season and progressed through the club’s academy before sealing the switch across London.
Meanwhile, striker David Fofana has joined French side Strasbourg on loan until the end of the season. The Ivory Coast international signed for Chelsea from Molde in January 2023 and is expected to gain further first-team experience in France. The 22-year-old previously spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Turkish club Goztepe.
Defender Aaron Anselmino has also moved to Strasbourg on loan for the remainder of the season. He spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund, where he made 10 appearances in all competitions before being recalled.
Anselmino joined Chelsea from Argentine giants Boca Juniors in August 2024.
