Martha Stewart says she’s happy being single and has no plans to remarry

Lifestyle entrepreneur and television personality Martha Stewart has revealed that she has no interest in getting married again, saying she is content with her life as a single woman.

In an interview with People magazine while recreating the cover of her iconic 1995 issue, the 85-year-old reflected on how her outlook on relationships has evolved since the end of her marriage in 1990.

Stewart said she believes the need for a romantic partner diminishes with age, explaining that she values her independence and has no desire to take on the responsibilities that can come with caring for an ageing spouse.

“I think the older you get, the less you really need a mate,” she told the magazine, adding that she enjoys the freedom of living life on her own terms.

Despite being single, Stewart said she maintains a busy social life and is surrounded by a wide circle of friends. She joked that those close to her know she rarely stays at social gatherings for very long.

Looking back on her past relationships, Stewart said she no longer envies married couples as she once did after her divorce. Instead, she now embraces the independence that comes with being single.

She also revealed that, when it comes to dating, she is more interested in spending time with younger men than pursuing another marriage.
