The National Vice Chairman (South East) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chidiebere Goodluck, has assured party members that the PDP is undergoing a deliberate and strategic rebuilding process and will emerge stronger.

Speaking on Friday during a South East Zonal meeting in Umuahia, Goodluck said the party is engaging loyal members, revamping its structures, and working to restore public confidence.

“We’ve faced challenges – political setbacks, internal conflicts, and electoral disappointments,” he said. “But like a ship in a storm, we have not sunk. The light at the end of the tunnel grows brighter every day. Make no mistake: PDP is bouncing back—stronger than before.”

He revealed that the party will soon announce the formation of strategic committees across state executive levels to promote unity, inclusivity, and renewed energy. These committees will focus on electoral readiness, reconciliation, media outreach, policy development, and grassroots mobilisation.

Goodluck also praised the efforts of former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Senator Austin Akobundu, calling them “dependable allies in the mission to rescue Nigeria and reclaim the party’s mandate.”

In his remarks, Abia State PDP Chairman, Elder Abraham Amah, highlighted efforts to stabilise the party in the state and beyond.

“We’ve built bridges, engaged stakeholders, and expanded the party’s reach beyond Abia to the South-South, South-East, North-Central, and other regions. Despite the challenges, the Abia PDP remains hopeful and full of potential,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation for the continued support from Ikpeazu and Akobundu and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to internal democracy, the rule of law, and respect for its constitution.

Other speakers, including Imo PDP Chairman and PDP Chairman of Chairmen, Austin Nwachukwu, and PDP National Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Asuoha, acknowledged the party’s current struggles but echoed the belief that the PDP will recover. They urged members to stay united and committed to the party’s revival.
